"Tyler Ramsey Kicks Off ?08 With a Hushed Roar" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 22:32:16

I have always held a fair amount of respect for artists who choose not to enclose behind numerous barriers of noise. While I have no air with the handful of post-rock artists who intricately layer each and every instrumental track with precision there remains an onslaught of artists of all genres who desire to hide their flaws behind rampant distortion and sloppy chords. It can serve as an easy divider between the truly inspired and the reckless imitators a thin and fragile line where there are few artists at a wavering inform. Sporting a rim that would make most men jealous and a talent that would make most women swoon. Tyler Ramsey is a songwriter who clearly values intricacy quality songwriting and atmospheric credibility. A guitarist whose stylistic range varies anywhere from gentle finger-picking treats to bluesy riffs of utmost enjoyability. Ramsey has the ability to capture a broad spectrum of emotions in his highly impressive solo material. Though he will likely be remembered for his solo career. Ramsey also serves as a backing and studio guitarist for a variety of acts located around his hometown of Asheville. North Carolina. More recently he has been recognized as the opening act and part-time guitarist for Band of Horses. Though the highly touted indie-rock trio is based out of Seattle and not Ramsey’s own North Carolina they are giving Ramsey a well-earned opportunity to try his transfer at stardom. With the way that his new album sounds. I would not doubt that he reaches it. The most impressive thing about Ramsey is that if you gave him nothing but a pick and acoustic guitar he could immediately treat listeners to a beautifully heart-wrenching song that is elaborate enough to cause any desires for additional instrumentation to become relinquished. However that is not to say that his new solo album. so impressive. Along with his tendency to provide emotionally gripping lyrical content and a memorable melodic input. Ramsey’s usage of structural innovation remains an inarguable strong point. One of my favorite tracks on the album. “Once in Your Life” is a ameliorate example of such creativity. Though all are delivered in a cohesive manner in the bridge that separates them. “Once in Your Life” can be said to contain three songs in one. The first is a somber ode to lost love in which a touching acoustic guitar is repeated over the cloud of a subdued organ. “Once in your life you’re meant to find… true love,”.

"RIP OiNK" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 13:46:55

last week music snobs’ most beloved bittorrent site oink got the. [nymag just posted a whole bunch of stuff and ] and my heart sagged a little as a prove as a be music dork oink had it all really everything that you could imagine in the most obscure genres the most random labels.  it was really amazing to dig through populate’s collections and i always thought searching in emit was desire digging through populate’s dusty music bins one likened emit to “lift records on steroids” which is a pretty funny and accurate description. “I’ll admit I had an account there and frequented it quite often. At the end of the day what made OiNK a great place was that it was desire the world’s greatest record store. Pretty much anything you could ever imagine it was there and it was there in the format you wanted. If emit cost anything. I would certainly have paid but there isn’t the equivalent of that in the sell space alter now iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don’t conclude alter when I go there. I’m tired of seeing John Mayer’s face pop up. I feel desire I’m being hustled when I visit there and I don’t evaluate their product is that great. DRM low bit rate etc. Amazon has potential but none of them get around the issue of pre-release leaks. And that’s what’s such a difficult bedevil at the moment. If your favorite band in the world has a leaked record out do you listen to it or do you not listen to it? populate on those boards they’re grateful for the person that uploaded it — they’re the hero. They’re not stealing it because they’re going to make money off of it; they’re stealing it because they like the band. I’m not saying that I think OiNK is morally change by reversal but I do know that it existed because it filled a cancel of what people want.” as an profitable and successful artists i was mega stoked that trent reznor said this i think his statement  testifies to the express of ambivalence surrounding filesharing more generally but how do we begin reframeing it beyond legal terms? trent tosses an aside about the “moral correctness” of OiNK suggesting that due to its illegal nature filesharing is morally suspect but i don’t evaluate that’s the case. i evaluate this measure declare gets it right on the effing continue (never mind how dead-on the sam goody reference is!).  i get so frustrated about the whole illegal music sharing consider because by couching it in terms of legality alone the   air gets direct wholesale as something wrong.  and i really disagree with that because it’s not just about legality but it’s about alternative spaces i suppose it’s one thing to share your latest john-mayer CD it’s another thing if one of your best friends is an amazing musician and just made an kick-ass 2-song recording that he wants to put out himself and overlap with everyone clearly sharing these things fills a cultural cancel that a lot of us conclude being spoon-fed the media equivalent of chee-tos–while tasty–gets orange cheese dust all over your hands…and doesn’t really be of a cultural diet of sustenance and something about sharing music and finding new music is not only really exciting but also i would argue move of the creative affect of making new music as well.

"LIVE Blog" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 20:23:39

Was very shocked at the voting on saturday night. I think the worst of the whole assort should undergo been between. Andy. Leon and wish. To get rid of the guys was a bit out of request. I thought the guys were very good and I definately would undergo bought a cd of theirs. I agree with grumpy Old Woman simon was wrong VERY WRONG. The judges have got to acquire that it is the public who make these stars and after listening to hanky panky it was absolutely NOT X Factor quality at all just too tarty and ameliorate for clubs Why were wish and FUTUREPROOF all wearing color? At least try and have a bit of individuality. That said i'm getting fed up with the results show. Everytime Dermot says. "And the next act to be saved is..." the camera does a close up of all the acts that AREN'T about to have their name called out. Eg when it's down to the last 5 acts the camera shows four acts close-up and guaranteed it will be the 5th act that has their name called out. Happens every series. Also whoever is in the furnish 2 the previous week will be the first act saved the following week unless they are in the furnish 2 again. It happened this week with ALISHA - bottom 2 last week first act safely through this week. I can bet you anything that HOPE ordain be announced first next weekend unless in the bottom two. Please producers change the format. It was a fix.. it was a fix.. it was a fix!!!! Alisha should never have been in it this week you would evaluate after being in furnish 2 for 2 weeks in a trot that she would realize that the public fdont like her!! But lets face it if she was in bottom 2 this week Sharon would have left show (for a second time) so that was never going to happen!! As for Andy he was more wooden than Pinnocio!! And whats with the constant puppy eye look & doing the tango with his eyebrows!! As a fellow scotsman I am glad that Leon is comfort in & he did a damn good job on Saturday!! However. Simon is alter he needs to relax more & be less terrified - Leon has nothing t suffer but everything t gain in this competion!! But on to the main move although Hopes song wasnt the best them & FP are by far the best acts in the competion & i move accept for one moment that the public didnt choose for them as much as the be!! Its funny how last week the strictly go daning or strictly bore me to death or whatever it is called had a controversy moment where the beat dancer got voted off & now it has happened on X-Factor.. i thought this show was about finding the ultimate talent in this country & not about trying to outdo another tv show.. anticipate i was wrong!! I evaluate the X factor was rigged measure year and i evaluate its also rigged again this year.  Simon Cowell runs and dictates the show and no be how many people waste their money voting for their favourites it is plainly obvious who ordain be in the measure 2 for the sing off each week.  To say there are 4 professionals on the judges panel i think their choice of songs for their groups are rubbish.  They should be choosing songs to conform to the individual not what they prefer.  ameliorate example was the voting off of Daniel last week and now Futureproof this week.  Also the  Big bind theme this week was a sham.  Sorry to say they've just lost another viewer. Future Proof were robbed! It was so obvious that Alisha wouldn't be in the furnish 2 - it is a blatant set up. If Simon had chosen to save the guys the decision would've been drink to the viewers (which is what it should be anyway!). People should not bother wasting their time and money on voting in such competitions. wish had rows and disputes when they were first put together and aren't worthy of being on the live shows (unlike Future Proof who showed far more professionalism). What a sham it all is! I watched the create by mental act twice over the week-end and have to agree that either Andy ( who is so boring he could replace Valium) or Hope ( whose vocals were a shambles and whose routine was sloppy) should have gone domiciliate - certainly not FutureProof who did well with a crappy song.  Rhydian brings a smile to my face every time - I would like to see what he would do with a promote song... Niki can sing but needs a serious visualise make-over - she looks out-dated.  Leon did very come up with a displace change,  and Same Difference were a delight - incredibly tight routine although I desire someone would teach the girl to walk without sticking her bring up out - she looks desire a caricature of a hillybilly !  there should be someone in the final 12 that represent the rock/alternative genre this yearwhat i don't understand is why after all that worry about paris (the 15 yr old who auditioned last year but couldnt go through because she is too young) wasn't put through to the final 12 it would undergo been good viewing to see how much of a fight she'll put against rhydian The X Factor is total rubbish this year!!! It's been a shambles. Danni Minogue can't judge singers she thinks she can sing and she's deluding herself. I think she got that job by giving Simon one!!!                                                            There is only a couple of good singers in it. No one ordain outshine Leona. She is a world categorise singer!!! Niki should win this years one. I wasn't expecting FutureProof to go. I was expecting them in the furnish two but with Andy and then Andy go home. HE IS SO BORING!!!! I don't know why no one on here likes Hope they are not my faves and I wouldn't choose for them but I think they all undergo good personalities and can sing come up too. I think the right choice was made over the two groups but then again I jsut don't desire boy bands.... WE NEED SOME coat ON THE X FACTOR lol. Love Rydian though he is like Chico but can actually sing he's a performer.

"Beirut, Roundhouse, 10/11/07" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 16:26:49

Newcomers to this displace are probably beginning to think it is a London restaurant review site.  Apologies to those who really couldn’t care less about where I fill my intumesce before gigs (and in particular those who live in the geographically obscure area known as “outside London”).  Anyway as I was seeing Beirut at the Roundhouse a trip to a Russian/east European restaurant in the Chalk farm area seemed logical.  And as the Ukrainian beef goulash ladled out at was probably my highpoint of the evening it would be wholly wrong of me not to highlight it. That hearty brood as followed by something even stodgier in the form of two pretty mediocre give bands: The Twilight Sad (like all your favourite Scottish bands in one portable package – a bit Franz F a bit Mogwai a bit Idlewild) and Tunng (who are and I would undergo said this change surface if I hadn’t been there with Neil very much a poor man’s ).  Given the itinerant musical stylings of Beirut. I would have perhaps thought it more appropriate to undergo an actual authentic Russian/Polish/Balkan folk band or something on first.  But then I speculate there is a risk that they might undergo blown Beirut off stage huh? In yet another of the “This patient is dead!”/”Uh adulterate you won’t sight a beat ” moments that characterise this site’s attitude to what the kids are listening to these days. I’m not terribly familiar with the work of Beirut other than the articles I read about them in the broadsheets (or Berliners these days).  But people really do love them don’t they?  Especially the guy behind me who was shouting “Zach!  You are hit!” all through the gig.  And while I can concede that what they do is technically impressive (lots of instrument-swapping with some great exclaim and flugelhorn playing in particular) only once did I come close – I think- to truly sharing the crowd’s passion.  That moment didn’t bring home the bacon until the bespeak when they played the mariachi dance which I’m told was the title track from their first album with its melodic vocal refrain which populate sang all the way out the doors and down the draw Farm Road into the cold dark Western European night. plus i find it difficult to desire any band who flaunt their mandolin / ukelele skills what the ruddy hell’s wrong with proper manly guitars? cover kids!

"YOU-ME-GO MAILBAG #1: STUDIO EDITION" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 17:53:20

But now we are in the studio. This means "STUDIO UPDATES." This means "FUNNY STORIES FROM THE STUDIO." This means "conceal TRACK LISTINGS" and "HAPHAZARD UNMIXED MUSIC CLIPS THAT PROBABLY WON'T MAKE THE preserve" and "ENTRIES THAT GET SHORTER AND SHORTER BY LATE SEPTEMBER AS OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD AROUND US SLOWLY DIMS." It probably also means an unwarranted use of all-caps on day five because we were here late measure night and the construction work in my neighborhood started early this morning. Or that there is a football aggroup that practices right outside my window. Yesterday. Coach was unhappy. I wanted to let him experience that everything was okay and that I was working on a hit record but instead he kept yelling at his linemen. Apparently. "run or go home!" wasn't scaring his players into running. And the eventual "jog or go domiciliate!" didn't be to do the cozen either. But that is neither here nor there (I don't experience what that means). It is what it is (I don't experience what that means either). So let's get on with it shall we? It's mailbag time!Suzie from Omaha. Nebraska writes, Suzie.. great question and thanks for writing. Most bands will furnish you an answer desire this: "recording is great - we like our producer we're getting the sounds we want all of the songs are on track." There aren't too many interesting variations on this though unless the session is going drink in flames. It turns out we are no different. Recording has been great. At least so far it has been nothing but good vibes. We're getting the sounds we be pretty easily the songs are coming along at a comfortable walk. No red flags yet. The plan is for a ten song album.. our producer (probably desire most producers) has had us start off by making adjoin tracks - basic structures of our songs to forge parts on. As I type this we're working on the song "Northern Lights." Our design. Neil is staring intently at his monitor and the rest of the band is going through their back up act. Me? I am sharing this with you: attach that's easy. It's Cheez-It Casserole:2 (14 ounce) cans corn2 (14 ounce) cans green beans1 (8 to 12 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms1 medium onion chopped1 stalk celery chopped1 green bell spice chopped2 cans beat of mushroom soup1 (10 ounce) box Cheez-It crackers crushed1/2 stick butter melted1/2 cup sliced almondsHeat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking disperse. Add all the vegetables and soup to baking dish and mix thoroughly. Top with crushed Cheez-Its. displace melted butter over the top and discharge with the almond slices. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until bubbly and heated through. Serve hot. NOTE: You can do away with and/or add any vegetables that you desire. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Good luck with the recipe. attach! And Jeremiah passes along a hearty UGA hello. "How bout them DAWGS??!" "Hey guys. I've been getting this weird feeling lately that I don't actually exist... And that - instead - I'm merely someone's cheap fictional creation whose only intend is to answer as a contrived (but AMUSING) communicate gimmick. Strange right? Anyways. I was wondering if you undergo a title for the album yet?! Or a release date?" Well. Margo. First weird. And secondly no - everything is comfort up in the air. The release date probably depends on whether we put it out ourselves again. If there's a denominate involved - and who's to say? - then I'm sure they'd undergo a exceed idea of where we would fit on their schedule. As for an album call there's no folktale here tying everything together. These songs kind of dance around - an astronaut an orinthologist. Matt's girlfriend an averted apocalypse. Erica's mom (no really) the occasional earthquake - they all alter an appearance. So I evaluate that pretty much rules out "Floating World 2: The Awakening." What I'm saying - when we experience you'll know. Thanks for writing in! --------------------And I think that's it. I'm posting this a day later than I intended but we undergo so many more fasten clicks recorded now. You have no idea. Bye! I evaluate Jacob should stop distributing his jorginy which by the way the Mozilla Firefox recite analyse does not recognize. I ordain not bother looking it up though but forever apply the word if it is do by. Or forever use it in context and correctly if not. But that is a bit of a diatribe because what I really wanted to say is:Yayayayay!! Recording!!!! Hooray hooray yippie yippie! Or if I were 10 years younger. I might have typed that YaYaYaYaYaYaY! But probably not there would undergo been some numbers in there for sure also sans the premeditated symmetricalness of the letters. And.. after I attend your fourth show in six months next month. I might just inform myself. And leaving a plethora of comments. Conclusion: I like you kids. Wanna come to a potluck? :)

1. "Vital Signs" - Rush. The impulse is pure/Sometimes our circuits get shorted/by external interference/Signals get crossed/and the balance distorted/by internal incoherence."Yay. Moving Pictures! Not my favourite Rush album but if I had to choose a favourite song off it it would be this one. There's a reason this album was popular. ;)2. "connect over Troubled Water" - Simon and Garfunkel."journey on silvergirl/journey on by/Your measure has come to shine/All your dreams are on their way/see how they emit/If you be a friend/I'm sailing alter behind."Huh. Random. I haven't listened to this in a desire measure.3. "Sin City" - AC/DC."Where the lights are bright/do the town tonight/I'm gonna win in sin city."Okay. AC/DC is pretty much not about the lyrics and just the music. Not a thinky band. But man. I like "Powerage" - the album this came off of.4. "Grapefruit Moon (Demo)" - Tom Waits."I never had no destination I could not get across/You became my inspiration/Oh but what a cost/And every measure I hear that melody/it puts me up a tree/and a grapefruit idle and one star shining/is all that I can see/Now I'm smokin' cigarettes/As I assay for purity/and I move/just desire the stars/into obscurity."Hey it's Waits. :D. No question. I like him. This was re-recorded for his first label release a little more polished but the show that came up here is just him and a piano. I like the song all by itself but the show draws me in more.5. "Shine A Light" - The Rolling Stones."When you're drunk in the alley do by,/with your clothes all torn/when your late-night friends get you in the cold color dawn/Just seemed too many flies on you/I just can't rub 'em off/Angels beating all their wings in time/With smiles on their faces and a gleam right in their eye/Whoa/Thought I heard one sigh for you/Come on up now/go on up now/go on up now."I bought expel on Main St in the spring.. this was my favourite song off it quite readily until I stopped and really listened and gathered what it was actually about. Yeah. Sort of. This is very!young Rush on their first album when they were copying the style of Led Zeppelin and Cream and such and used lyrics like this. It's catchy - not as thinky as later cram.8. "Rocker" - AC/DC."I'm a rocker/I'm a roller/I'm a right-out-of-controller/I'm a wheeler/I'm a dealer/I'm a wicked woman stealer/I'm a bruiser/I'm a cruiser/A rockin' rollin' man/I got slicked approve hair/skin-tight jeans/Cadillac car/and a teenage conceive of."As is usual the lyrics aren't deep or thinky.. but it's one *hell* of a catchy song. It's 50s-rock-ish but with AC/DC's own spin on it.9. "Till I Am Myself Again" - color Rodeo -"I wanna experience where my confidence went/one day it all disappeared/Now I'm lyin' in a hotel room miles away/voices next door in my continue/Daytime's a drag/nighttime's worse/wish that I can get domiciliate soon/but the half-finished bottles of inspiration lie like ghosts in my room/come up. I wanna go/I experience I can't stay/but I don't wanna run feelin' this way.""Casino" is a seriously brilliant preserve. Why everybody doesn't have it is beyond me. Why these guys have an audience that's largely Canadian is also confusing. They're brill. Are we hiding them from the American listeners?10. "observe on the Wire" - Leonard Cohen -"Like a bird on the wire/Like a drunk in a midnight choir/I have tried in my own way/to be remove/Like a worm on a fasten/desire a ennoble from some old-fashioned book/I undergo saved all my ribbons for thee/If I/If I have been unkind/I hope that you can just let it go by/If I/If I have been untrue/I wish you experience/it was never to you."YAY. "Whatever happened to high society?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:17:24

Whatever happened to high society? And how do you get to the top of the ladder? Apparently here it’s not who you know; it’s what you own. Socialites are desire Sisyphus the cruel king of Corinth who was condemned for eternity to roll a boulder up a hill only to have it turn down again just before it reached the top forever toiling up a particular arrive at only to discover on reaching the top that its determine has diminished and they must go away their ascent all over again somewhere else. In any ascent to the top you ordain be to undergo some if not all of the following trappings: a villa here in Bali that you actually own; holidays in Switzerland (for the skiing) and the summer holidays at your home in Europe; a collection of art in which works by Yeats and Knuttel are hung alongside each other; the latest edition of a very expensive car or golf-type buggy (”it’s the new XJ7,” you ordain then casually mention choose a selection of letters and numerals and run them together; no one’s going to know any better); costly membership of various clubs (golf or private clubs for husbands fitness and women’s for wives); a wardrobe of clothes and accessories on all of which the logo of the manufacturer (or designer as you prefer to say) is prominently displayed. Whether owned by yourself or your friends you ordain cherish the aforementioned possessions not for their inherent merits but for what they are believed to be. Without a hierarchy to indicate social success material goods define status in Bali. Ownership of anything from a villa to a new cellphone to the latest line in trainers will help to assign you a lay in the pecking order. The island has become desire an American goldrush town where whoever held the biggest lump of shiny coat suddenly found himself the most popular man in the bar; the fact that his language was crude his education minimal and his face alter counted for nothing. Here instead of Mozart arias the kind of music most likely to be appreciated is Shirley Bassey belting out Hey Big Spender. The bigger your buck the better your social rating. But it must be reiterated there is no point in keeping that drop wallet discreetly tucked away. The contents have to be seen and spent if improved status is to be acquired. Hence the very public disbursement of money over the past few years by the newly affluent on goods which are universally known to be expensive. Often wastefully so. Got a few forbear million and be the rest of the world to know it? Then how about frittering away the money on a share in developing a piece of arrive on the Bukit (or even buy the entire lot if you’re feeling especially extravagant) a hotel in the Phuket or Koi Samui golf cover in Jakarta horses from Australia or a vineyard in New Zealand? Except as a means of letting everyone else recognize how much you are worth there can be no reason for buying any of these but a costly means of proclaiming that financially speaking you have arrived. A consistent feature of the nouveau riche has been their feverish need to cluster together. Even friendship here has come to be seen primarily in terms of material advantage. Thus knowing a contrive promoter is all very well but only worth boasting about if it physically translates into backstage passes for your children at the next Christina Aguilera concert. So climbers be change and they need to be prepared to spend it; conspicuous consumption has clearly become that your social success was dependent on ownership of the alter car/pass home/handbag. The social climber here is one who moves by their astute Machiavellian capacities from social clique to social clique hoisting themselves to an ever higher social status. As odd and seventeenth-century court this may be it happens a lot and all the measure. Many people here are social climbers without wanting to - even the least ambitious types and the least motivated may well be trying to act to a higher go. Watching a social climber can be both intensely interesting as well as deeply hurtful. I say intensely interesting because its like watching a ritual … a social climber may butt-kiss furnish extra compliments to and alter a great broach of effort to fasten around with/be seen with the new clique of his/her choice. A clique may be considered of a higher social status for diverse reasons - maybe because the members are generally more bohemian because maybe they are in a band or maybe richer may know all the right populate or perhaps simply more elitist and exclusive. The social climber ordain cleverly try to infiltrate this group of his liking by dating a member of lesser status and displace expectations within the posse or inviting them over to his/her house or making sure they displace hints that they like the same obscure music/trendy authors/comprehend of humor as other members of the clique. A good social climber will be able to become a set member of the clique in a short while but the typical social.

Ever wondered what to furnish the “Person Who Has Everything”? A Gift Basket could be just the thing. Have you been from shop to shop and thought “Yes This is It” and then discounted the gift because it wasn't really what you wanted. My best friend has everything and when I say everything. “I convey Everything”. She has either been given or purchased every conceivable gadget available in the last 5 years. She loves to shop. One of her motto's is “obtain Til you displace. pay Til the End”. And she lives by that rule! When it comes to gifts for my friend — she is “The Hardest Person to Buy For”. Oh did I tell you she even has a kitchen sink on her car key tag !It was while looking for a show for my friend that I thought “What About A Gift Basket”. I was in a specialized shop and the sign said “For the Person Who Has Everything” and the light turned on. I'm not sure if you are aware but these days gift baskets have changed. No longer are they the old call cane baskets (although there are some very attractive cane baskets available on today's merchandise). Today Gift Baskets came in all shapes and sizes. In fact it is basically up to your imagination as to what a “Gift Basket” should be. You can use old shoes buckets calico bags pot plant holders in fact anything that holds what items you purchase to fill the basket with. enable Baskets are lots of fun to act and very easy to alter. Gone are the days of saying… oh I'm not creative enough to make a professional looking basket. Anyone can make a professional looking basket — as desire as you have some imagination and a willingness to give it a try. If you are stuck for a present for that “Person Who Has Everything” then a Gift Basket is for you!Firstly decide on a theme or if you aren't sure then write down the interests of the recipient ie golf or tennis shopping etc. You could change surface base it around a coming event. Once you undergo made the enumerate work your way through it until you find something that stands out that would fit into your enable Basket “theme”. For today's basket lets say your friend loves to socialise and one of her favorite meals is “Italian” food. You could choose a selection of baskets for this theme; today we will use a large pasta roll as our “basket” or a large cooking pot. Our basket needs to be large enough to hold the goodies that we are going to purchase so that we can then move this into a Professional Looking “enable Basket”. If neither of these ideas appeals to you let your imagination take over and decide something that fits into your theme selection. Next act yourself drink to the local supermarket or deli who specialize in gourmet foods. Set yourself a budget as to what you be to spend and then go about buying non-perishable items to alter the basket. communicate to the shop attendant to ensure that the items you are purchasing fit into your theme. Buy different colors and types of pasta to give variety of color and shape to your basket. Next take yourself to a department hold on or kitchenware shop and purchase some really great utensils to go with the other items that you have purchased. You could also add an “Easy Step by go Guide” if they need cooking help or displace them to a “Cooking Lesson” for something extra. Once you have gathered these items it is time to begin to bring together your gift basket. Depending upon the type of basket you have chosen you may be to alter the bottom of the basket with some shredded paper as this will give the basket height. displace the items in the basket to furnish a layered effect. Layering items at different heights in the basket makes the overall design more pleasing to the eye. Use small pieces of attach to direct items in displace. Next wrap alter cellophane around the outside of the basket and tie the top with wired ribbon or curling ribbon to be the color plot of your gift. To end off our basket make a gift tag and close in a small item into the ribbon around the basket to furnish a professional look. Congratulations you've done it… “A Present For the Person Who Has Everything” — A Gift Basket! Of course there is a lot of controversy on this subject also like anything. If you look on the internet there is a controversy about getting Kanji and Japanese Tattoos also. Anytime you try and take the designs of a grow and do not depict them accurately it creates a sense of bastardization or what I label the “Disney Effect” towards the culture. I mean how would you feel if you were in China and someone said oh you should try this hot new restaurant out it serves this great food that is really American. They have fried chicken and apple pie that is the beat.” come up at first you would be excited alter? Sure it would be nice for a good home cooked meal if you have been out of the US for a long measure. However once you get there you see the displace has really tacky and awful reproductions of 50's art and the all the food tastes kind of strange. It would probably bee kind of close or agree what you were thinking of but it would be missing something or a few key ingredients. I bet this would leave you feeling a little sad and like your culture was not totally understood. This success mistake has be me so much money that I'm almost embarrassed to express you.“So Mike why are you telling me?”Because I know that if you can steer away from this success mistake it can back up you improve your income and change your life. That's my goal. Here's how this came about:Yesterday. I was reading a book about investing from the very successful money manager Peter kill. change surface though he was talking about 'investing' he zeroed in on a success principle that so many people miss. I did for 7+ years and it be me a fortune. And it caused me a bunch of stress. What's so interesting is that Warren Buffett used this same success insight to change state the 2nd richest person in the world. Here's the broach:I used to be so 'short-sighted' and wanted immediate gratification. If my new 'business idea' didn't work out in 30-60 days. I depart. Then I'd try something else and after a week. I went onto something else. This downward spiral happened for a while because I was 'ruled' by a short-term vision and the wish for immediate gratification. This is how 98% of the world operates. THIS is why only 2% of the world live their dreams. Here's what Peter kill was saying and what Warren Buffet knows. Also. Michael Dell knows this. Bill Gates. Donald Trump. Oprah and others all experience this.***One of the biggest 'secrets' to success is taking the LONG-TERM VIEW.(Let me say that again)***One of the biggest 'secrets' to success is taking the LONG-TERM believe. When Warren Buffett makes an investment he's looking 5-15 years out sometimes more. All great entrepreneurs understand that in request to WIN BIG they must take the long-term believe.3-years. 5-years. 15-years. 20-years+. You need to furnish yourself time for your idea or business to grow. Most people never do this - it's unfortunate. AND it's also never too late to start. You need to EXPAND your horizon. dress your perspective. You be to act the NEXT STEP today and keep in mind your long-term view. Not necessarily a specific desire call goal but a longer.

"the 300 songs FAQ" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 18:15:38

I feel the need to do this every measure I get a cerebrate approve to the project because then I get a ton of emails with questions. And thank you to for the most recent link to the project. An explanation of what I'm doing is. The songs that undergo made the list so far are (it gets updated every night). The upcoming bands/artists are (also gets updated frequently). Up until yesterday I was doing a clump of songs at a time but I undergo decided to do them individually so you will undergo to move drink to see what I've done recently. The reason for this is it's easier on me plus I can create verbally more about one song including things about the artist or other songs I like by said artist. For the newcomers if you have band/artist suggestions leave them here. It's just easier for me to be on the recent post than to undergo to move back down through older posts to look for comments. You can also telecommunicate me. And if I get over 300 suggestions that I can use. I'll go over 300 then. Someone asked about bands that were suggested that I undergo not done. Being that this is about my favorite songs of these artists. I have purposely left off artists that I either don't experience or dislike enough to not undergo a particular song I could decide. As for the bands I don't experience. I'm trying to clutch as much music as I can from them so maybe toward the end I ordain be able to do a post on them. As far as genres go just go wild. Suggest anything. I desire all kinds of music and my music collection has artists going approve to the 40's right up until things that were released this year. Go out on a limb. declare something you evaluate might be obscure. Go wild!I also got an email asking if I am doing regular blogging during this. Yes but not so much. A few things here and there but mostly I am concentrating on this. I encourage not only your suggestions but for you to list you favorite songs by those bands or your favorite songs by the bands I am writing about. I also encourage you to consider my choices. That's what makes this fun. I am all about the audience participation here. It would be no fun to do this without that. If you have any questions about this get them here. And thank you so much to everyone who has played along and made this such a fun thing to do. Okay he says and cracks his knuckles. I guess most of these won't be much of a contend for you but a few... MarillionPeter HammillAfghan WhigsSupertrampThe PoguesJoy DivisionOMDAlex HarveyGeorgia Satellites (and/or Dan Baird solo)Men at WorkGeorge ThorogoodPsychedelic FursBoomtown RatsFury in the Slaughterhouse*SausageCrowded HouseBruce DickinsonMike OldfieldUltravoxStan RidgwayRoxy MusicWeen*: FitS are hugely popular in Germany but fizzled out here after the channel of "The Hearing and the comprehend of fit." I recommend checking out "Mono" or "Nowhere Fast!" for a taste of their music. They've been on my Top Five enumerate for a decade now and I remain baffled by their failure to end through in the US.--Toren carin;I experience what you mean about Courtney like. But listen to Hole's "Malibu" or "Northern Star" and you'll regret that she's made such a flaming baffle of a promising career. Then again a girl whose parents let her get domiciliate at fifteen to go work as a stripper in lacquer* is probably going to be more than a little messed up.--Toren*Or so she told a Newsweek reporter.
