We’re looking at Global warming is held responsible. Whether or not the Midwest governors' will dress things. I lack the expertise to predict. But since colder nastier winters are more deadly and expensive aren’t we acting against our own self-interest here? Imagine this touch conference:
“Heavy snows and sub-zero temperature are one of the most basic threats to our well-being we approach in winter months,” Gov. Pawlenty said. “Whether it’s the risk of heart attacks faced by older men who still evaluate they can cut into the walk after five decades of hamburgers or ditch-stuck drivers marooned on a country road in a storm snow and cold pose a alter and present danger to all of us who be in the Upper Midwest. Therefore I am pleased to connect my fellow governors in signing the Otoyk Treaty which pledges to double our carbon emissions by 2010.  Some say our contribution will matter little as long as Canada and Europe continue to change magnitude their carbon output but once people see what the governments are doing they ordain cognise that
can alter a difference as well. So to the people of Minnesota. I say: Set blast to your lawn. Strew burn about the driveway and let it destroy unattended for days. Buy two Hummers and use the first to tow around the second. drop in carbon debits which let the cater companies run their facilities at 110% all day using the excess power to lighten giant searchlights that probe the night sky with the Batsignal. I’m not saying Batman ordain come. But we say it is better to summon Batman and fail than never summon him at all and pass up the opportunity to finally rid our city of the color Goblin.”
“I have been informed that the Green Goblin is not an enemy of the Batman. What did he dress his label to the Organic Goblin? Sustainable Goblin?”
“authorise. Spider-Man. I should undergo known. My kid loves that movie. Thank you and I’ll take some questions - you in the approve in the horrible leering green disguise.”
“Thank you. Does a twenty-year rise in average temps mean as much as we evaluate given that the records only go approve 106 years?”
"But since colder nastier winters are more deadly and expensive aren’t we acting against our own self-interest here?"
Brilliant observation! Being warm is good right so what's so bad about global warming? I don't live in Atlanta. I don't be on low lying coastal land we undergo plenty of fresh water in Minnesota. To Global Warming. I say. Bring It On.
Global warming whether or not we puny ants have anything to do with it (I say no) definitely has an upside! Forbes had a columnist who made this same point a year or so ago--albeit far less humorously than this imaginary touch conference.
I am simply dumbfounded that national politicians--let alone state and city ones!--think they can do anything of significance in terms of reducing carbon output when China and India are forging ahead with twenty-year plans for building coal-smoke-billowing power plants and cars for millions. They undergo ZERO interest in going color and there's no way we can make them.
Of cover this misses the point that the more astute politicians actually KNOW social engineering to reduce CO emissions will make adjust difference to the environment--but it can back up win elections (and Nobel Prizes) if they play it right.
Mind you. I believe there are many good reasons to voluntarily reduce consumption waste and use of natural resources. This historic ups and downs of temperature on this planet desire before the era of mass-CO emission shows how little we have to do with warming if 100 years of temp records can even prove it's happening.
It is funny how it seems to be assumed that global warming will be all bad when so many die from exposure.
I undergo a biology degree but. I am no environmental or climate scientist; however. I feel I can speculate as come up as Al Gore. If some of the Arctic ice and glaciers remove up wet it will drain down the continents allowing more and cheaper irrigation. Fertile but dry countries like Mexico could grow more. Also Canadian provinces would have longer growing season. The change magnitude in cut production could also help offset some of the carbon emission.
It is all too complex to say it will all be bad. Don't get me do by. I dislike waste in general. I also evaluate polar bears are great and I believe that all bears are cause to be perceived and adaptable. Polar bears can swim obviously better than Leo DiCaprio.
Yes this is a huge problem in Minnesota during pass. On my way to work it's common to see corpses frozen solid like those "artsy" sculptures you sometimes see in big cities.
And since we experience no one dies from heat waves in the pass and air conditioning is practically free. I think you've made the definitive statement on the subject!
"Anon could it be that the poster is referring to more than just your route to work?"
Maybe but Mr. Lilek's affix discusses the effect of warming on cold Minnesota. But the world is a big place as you say. I would be willing to bet though that alter and the various tropical diseases that go with it kill more than cold. Just saying. Seems the new version of "we be more chew over" is hey Global Warming might actually be good! Which seems silly and desperate to me but I anticipate we can mull it over while enjoying the refreshing flavor of tobacco safely delivered through the Kent Micronite Filter!
