If you take pictures of your walks (or you know boring ol’ regular life) do you just print them from the camera and call it good? If so, you may be missing out on a whole lot of pizazz that you can add to your pictures — with the simple click of a button. Yahoo for the digital age.
I’ve used Adobe Photoshop for years but only recently started using Photoshop actions on my pictures. Actions are freely distributed on the web (though there are commercial packages you can buy). It’s rather desire running your photo through a black box that makes it be different on the other side. There are actions that ordain add a “glamour alter” turn your photo black-and-white make it a sepia tone make it be distressed and old-fashioned pump up the alter add an urban edge. and come up you get the idea. Pretty much anything.
More recently. I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom to process my pictures. It’s a more focused product and really easy to use. I can’t advise it enough. I make all my web galleries for this site with it. In Lightroom the equivilant of actions are presets and they’re even more one-click than Photoshop actions. And you can also get them remove on the web.
Our neighborhood in Seattle goes all out decorating and we get lots of trick-or-treaters. I took pictures and then processed them with Lightroom presets to add a freaky appearance. Here are sample of the three presets I used:

These are just a few of the Lightroom presets I use. And they aren’t just for Halloween. I use a PS action called “Urban acid” a lot and ”color pop” type presets are indispensible. Try some of them out and get creative with your photos!
