The Quabbin reservoir in central Massachusetts has a bittersweet history. In 1938 four towns were relocated to flood this area into a water resource for the booming city of Boston. Although much care and effort went into the relocation some remnants can be seen when the water level is low. This trio of submerged rocks seem to have a life of their own due to the simmering veins of light. I think of them as paying homage to those who lived in these towns and whose memories now lie entombed. Additional Note:I sat on a partially submerged rock and gingerly used a series of stepping stones to get here. "into" the water. I used my elbows on my knees for the tripod and somehow exited without getting wet feet. KM
Sometimes the water looks really wet! The undulating flow of the ripples is what really makes this shot bring home the bacon. Serge
Hi Kathy,i like the way you have lowered your camera and taken this photo. Very nice. Only thing I want to ask did you use polarizer while taking this? If not. I anticipate using that would undergo made the sky more blue giving this more bit more contrast regards, anindya
Nice shot Kathy. You made good use of the wide angle lens because the rocks in the forground make this picture. If anything i would undergo used a polarizer. Your explanation about the history of the place is very intresting. BravoJY
Dear Kathy,The conformity of the bottom of wet bed with the trees on top gives me a very nice harmonious feeling. WeldoneBehnaM
