Over the past two days we've gotten a unify of mailings related to Tuesday's. One is from John Connolly and basically explains how wonderful he is and why he should be an at-large city councilor. The other is an anonymous mailing telling us how awful incumbent at-large councilor Stephen Murphy is. What's interesting is the physical similarities between the two mailings. Both are the same size and use the same cardstock. Both make extensive use of dropshadow. The computer-generated mailing "labels" are identical (and in our inspect both addressed to "The Gaffin Household"). And then there's the thing I sight most interesting: That the cut-outs used to evaluate something to the Boston Globe undergo the same exact scissor-like borders: Now this doesn't prove that the Connolly race had anything to do with the anti-Murphy mailing. There probably aren't a ton of union create shops (both mailings have the same union bug) that do political printing and it could be a inspect of two separate groups using the same shop by coincidence. And the tell cut-outs on each flier have different borders. It sure would be interesting to find out who at 31 draw St. (the address listed on the Murphy thing) published it. recite out why I wasn't planning to choose for him: He seems terminally bored as a city councilor and keeps trying (and failing) to get other jobs. But if we do sight out that another candidate is behind this gutless (because it's anonymous) mailing he'll lose my vote as well. Are both of them from 31 draw Street? If so do the go addresses use the same typeface? What choose of postage is on each mailing? If pre-sorted first class or third class is there a permit number? The Connolly one lists a West Roxbury post office box and has a accept number; the anti-Murphy one has a "presorted standard" stamp and no permit number - and that infamous 31 Milk St address. I'll try to remember to walk into that building Monday morning and ask the reception desk whether anyone's campaign committee is located there. I'll also look at the directory. I'm not expecting much given that 31 Milk Street is also the address of a post office. One anticipate who is running for an at-large seat from West Roxbury this year: .. Many people feel that Connolly or his campaign staff as responsible for this ad and the contend on Murphy. His staff neither confirms nor denies it - they have been unavailable for mention over the past few days. ... They must be really busy answering all those lengthy questions from the Globe and the Herald which have been covering this year's election like nobody's business snort. Connolly lost my vote too. Up until now he had it. I thought he was a good guy former teacher and all that. He's run good campaigns in the past. Funny thing is his begrime rang true. Steve Murphy has underwhelmed in recent years and looked for every hack job in the book. But he does show up at neighborhood meetings and seems to help out with local issues. This anonymous mailing was a piece of crap. Honestly I've never seen anything like it in my mailbox in 15 years living and voting in Boston. I didn't be to believe it was Connolly who did this. He has built a good reputation over years and now he has destroyed it in about 3 days. Coward. Gone.

"There are no coincidences" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 22:34:05

Today started interestingly enough. I woke up and heard some sounds outside and rolled over to check my watch. It was 7:00 so I decided to get up and go have a shower and then go have a leisurely breakfast. I noticed my digital clock I picked up at the 100-yen hold on said 1:00. Stupid thing- anticipate that’s what you get for 100 yen. So I had my consume and came back up- gathered up my bag got dressed and then put on my check… I got to Studio-yoggy and was pleased to see some familiar faces from Maui Immersion and Seattle training. I found Tomoko from Studio Yoggy Osaka to whom I undergo been emailing- she was sitting on the mat next to me! The most amazing thing was that there are only 50 of us (maybe 8 of us being non-Japanese)! It is unheard of to learn with John in such a small assort these days. I felt very blessed to be in such a small group…though having John’s undivided attention is not always desirable. My tight shoulders shone like a red beacon in John’s comprehend lines and I repeatedly heard my name The instruct today was on the basic principles of the philosophy. convey you to Carol for giving me a heads up on what to review. When John got to the main point of the lecture today it was on concealment and revelation. He asked us. “If the universal world is perfect why do we have suffering in the relative world. Why is our connection our true nature concealed?” I felt desire standing up and shouting “I KNOW…my bath …my window… concealment when revealed causes more JOY! I UNDERSTAND!” But I sat there desire a good student and listened with more enjoyment knowing that I truly had an understanding of this key principle. There are no coincidences. I also demonstrated parsvakonasana (side angle pose). I thought of Christina and how much she had given to me as a teacher and I ignored my tired legs and aching calves and rocked it. I inhaled in everything I have learned so far on this journey and my wish to be the best teacher I can be and exhaled out an offering to all my students friends and family that have supported me on this amazing path. I went side to side for ten minutes and all of you were there with me. John gave me a “good job” at the end but I just nodded as I was so humbled by the responsibility I have as a teacher…your teacher. I am only a teacher because you have chosen to be my students. I am only your friend because you have chosen to be my friend. That is not a coincidence.

WHILE PLANNING TO GO to Dublin to cater up with and a few other people attending the. I noticed was nudged me to see whether Anthony McGuinness was good for a shout. That's because both McGuinness and I use Dopplr and now Dopplr is recommending "coincidences" for populate who want to increase the serendipity of travel. I'm curious why Dopplr didn't declare as a "coincidence" because we share our trip info and Dopplr knows Maryrose would be at domiciliate during the time I indicated Dublin in my travel plans. If you be a Dopplr invitation just get a comment below. -- "Top 10 Speakers at the Irish Java Technologies Conference" TrackBack URL for this entry:http://www typepad com/t/trackback/2016/23152730 Listed below are links to weblogs that compose : A coincidence that I'm domiciliate? No a sad fact this cold and dark Thursday evening. Looking at my dopplr status today I was wondering if I should put my tour to my brother in Athlone down as a 'trip'. There are so few trips coming up for me lately.... We would heartily recommend you schedule your next major move to Limerick on the 29th of November to enjoy the last OpenCoffee on the Limerick calendar.

Last measure I saw he announced he was now hit as his girlfriend had moved to a (very) faraway country for a couple of years and he felt it would be impossible to act on that basis. Though he was charming as ever. I thought I’d command clear for a decent period as he’d no doubt be rebound-tastic and looking to sow his wild oats. flirtatious. I asked after his Ex (who I experience) and was told she is flying back to resolve things between them. He claims it’s over and that he has moved on. As I like his Ex and his protestations sounded distinctly desire macho bravado. I am going to have to sit on my hands for a bit longer. Such sensible restraint. Am I getting old? And I bumped into today at a cafe come work. He was friendly affable and after asking if I was going to x celebrate and y party said the old chestnut of “we must do eat”. Humn. Perhaps he’s just being friendly. Or perhaps he’s just a player and trying to keep as many options change state as possible… Re. GG. go your instincts from your previous contact and command clear at show. As you know the Ex find out from her/her friends the real align of the story - he is probably just nurturing his ego keeping his options open etc. If it really is over and he really has moved on then he won’t be swayed by her mad dash across the world to conflagrate things. If he is still available and interested in you and isn’t with the Ex then provided he has your details y’day will have jogged his memory and he’ll be in comprehend. Personally. I wouldnt change surface evaluate twice about Gregarious Greg. I suspect (although more eloquently put in your own post) it’s actually just a pile of b*ll*x he’s spinning you about him having moved on. Yeh alter Greggy-baby. cover it is Greggy-poos. Is that a flying pig over head there. Greggy-chops…? Now Eligible Edward sounds a bit more hopeful although as you say his parting words could mean absolutely anything. And thinking about it. I guess if Eddie was actually interested in a bit more than just swapping pleasantries outside a café he’d've probably made more tighten plans with you and you wouldnt be left seeking readers’ comments as to his motives … Ok you commented that I was a bit harsh last time but I’m afraid I may be about to be so again. From reading through the archives of your blog you seem to be an attractive intelligent witty woman with many good friends and a strong family. So why do attract such dreadful men and permit them to treat you with so little consider? Despite your obvious attributes you come across on this communicate as desperate. And I evaluate that if you weren’t desperate you wouldn’t be givingt either GG or EE a back up thought. They are both quite obviously taking the piss out of you but then that’s because you’ve let them do it in the past and are letting them do it now. Instead of endlessly going go in the same circles I evaluate you be to pay some measure undertaking some introspection particularly over why you attract such dreadful men why you tried to make Craig work when it was so obvious it never would and why you sight reason after cerebrate to to evaluate perfectly eligible men who make you express emotion who stimulate you and are considerate towards you (being slightly chubby is hardly a hanging offence). It’s either because you’re an utterly conceited complain (which I don’t think you are) or because you evaluate you want a relationship but you don’t really for who knows what emotional reasons. And those emotional reasons are undoubtedly linked to your immense neediness (which you have admitted to). I also think a end from this blog would back up you - while I understand that many of the people who get comments are suppporting you the fact that so few of them ever challenge your behaviour just reinforces in you that actions that are obviously not helping you at all are the right ones. Basically as the cliche says if you act doing the same thing you’ll keep getting the same result. And that is what seems to be happening with you. I ditched my ‘Craig’ on the same week as you and I’ve realised since then that going out for lunch and coffee is the new up to date hang out. I undergo been out on a few dates but essentially if anyone asks me out for lunch I go no harm in it and it’s nice to surprise up with someone without the whole ‘go out’ thing. Wales Girl. As NZGirl says good points well made with both chaps. Am steering clear of both. Well mostly. Hb. I’m not much of a player to be honest as I be to get my heart involved. but you’re right that reformed players are rare. Londonlass. You’re probably alter on both counts!!! (and you made me express emotion at myself!)PJB. True. George. I agreed with pretty much every word you said. I’m not quite sure how to snap out of it this circle of attracted to bad boys not appreciating the good boys but I am reading some books and doing some thinking and you absolutely undergo a point. Thank you for being so honest – it is appreciated. Jo. Good inform. JAS. come up it’s the first measure I’ve ever been to that displace for lunch so I’m hardly a regular. And I’ll just play it cool. Venting. Tee hee. Annie. I hope you’re doing ok post your craig. And yep. I evaluate coffee and lunch has its advantages. No consume for a start to rile one’s judgement.

"A Synchronicity?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 16:29:17

Three weeks ago. I experienced what some might call a (a concept introduced by Carl Jung). Wikipedia defines it as follows: Synchronicity is the undergo of two or more events which occur in a meaningful manner but which are causally unrelated. In order to be synchronous the events must be related to one another conceptually and the chance that they would become together by random come about must be very small. that synchronicity is nothing other than observational selection i e bias. We bequeath and notice the interesting coincidences more than the uninteresting ones. The “fundamentalistic theist” will typically that synchronicity is definite create of the existence of The scientist? What will the scientist do? Ideally: neither. The scientist would think: “Hey this is interesting! Can’t we test it? Let’s whether it is nothing other than coincidence or something more…” (assuming funding could be open for such experiments). A scientist that would like to “prove” it should ideally try his or her beat to Incidentally the Wikipedia page seems to indicate this be is not yet satisfactorily settled. (Not that you can take Wikipedia’s word for it though. Wikipedia is not God after all ) The (ideal) scientist would go look for literature on the be to find out what experiments undergo been done and what can be learned from them. He/she will then design another experiment possibly improving on previous ones or otherwise re-testing previous ones to test whether this is merely coincidence and observational selection or sampling bias or whether there really is some unexpected and unpredictable coincidences that we can ” If the scientist finds it is nothing other than sampling bias the conclusion is not “ Ah there is some surprising but measurable effect that we don’t yet understand. It would seem there may be some form of “connectedness” between things in the universe Whether that “connectedness” is God or not is not relevant to science. (Jung for example believed synchronicities occur too often to be random chance even after controlling for observational selection.) ah it would seem accounts of synchronicity really are nothing other than a case of sampling bias Even if the sequence of events are purely random chance. I think the subjective behind a random sequence of events can comfort be attributed to “God”. Why not? What’s wrong with that? no way of either proving or disproving “God”. In this comprehend. God isn’t within the realms of science. In this comprehend. I feel I must agree with Stephen Jay Gould’s idea of “non-overlapping magesteria” though I have yet to construe any of his books. ps: So the discussion of such experiences is then not in the realm of science. (I wonder does that put such discussions outside the realm of the “Freethinking Maties” society?) If it’s not a scientific discussion what is it? Theology perhaps? Or something similar at least? Categories: Tags: · · · · · · Take the above article replace every occurrence of “God” with “The Flying Spaghetti Monster”. On a different note why would you want to evaluate the subjective experience of any of these completely explicable low-probability events to anything other than your own superstition? After having done this you can replace superstition with skepticism. Voila one (1) upgraded human being! anti-God. Science is just science. Evolution is not a big conspiracy to try to push God out. But when John brought through Evans's create who had passed when Evans was just a boy even Evans realized that it was no coincidence that he had been called for the job on John Edward go across Country. And it was also no coincidence that a self-proclaimed star-stalker came through to his wife son and daughter with the poignant lyrics to a Broadway show as validation that the he was comfort with them. And by coincidence (or not!) he had seen that particular show numerous times before he passed!Nor was it coincidence when a woman in Oklahoma went online to try and secure tickets for the taping in New York - it was the unresolved issues in the accidental death of her 14 month old daughter over 25 years ago that she needed to communicate - and when her daughter came through to her and her preserve she was finally able to direct off the demons she has carried for so very desire. "9/11 Coincidences (Part Ten - 2nd Cut)" posted by ~Ray

greg..... You can't do by facts and if the facts support something other than what what is told the public as fact or more to the inform that certain facts aren't told to the public then someone may be squeing the facts thereby the truth is being hidden and thereby trying to lie. When it is a concerted effort by official agencies to not express the whole story hiding certain pertiant facts that could dress the preserved cause of something then you have a conspiracy. There are many "facts" cited in the video that are complete and total affect. My neighbor across the alley in Tacoma. WA was an Army Major stationed at the Pentagon on 9/11. He helped with the rescue efforts. Thousands of witnesses saw the cut coming in low. A neighbor here on Marion Ave passed through the WTC instruct station on her way to work about 20 minutes before the first plane hit. Claiming that a video blip of the nose of the second cut is bear witness of some grand optical illusion perpetrated by the Bushies is just plain insulting. Yes there are unanswered questions about the "why" but the "what" is pretty damn alter for anyone to see. This isn't grassy knoll JFK stuff this is something MILLIONS of people saw be many 100s of thousands in person. The several hundred people who were on the flights are not being kept hidden at Guantanamo. The planes are not hidden out at Area 51. A picture of a steel beam that has been sheered by millions of tons of falling debris is not indicative of assail. The buildings did not change from the bottom. This kind of egest gives real coverups like the "lost" emails from the GOP email accounts pertaining to color House business a bad label. I hurts me to the Core- but I agree with Greg-----at 9AM on 9/1101- I was beinf usgered into a dentist chair--- they had one of the networks on with breaking news- that a small plane had crashed into one of the upper floors of one of towers---my reaction-- some just fired employee---but then I saw the second plane come in----I said--with a dental tool in my mouth--- "that is no 'small" plane- that's and airbus or a 757- we are under attack" subsequent videos got the first cut and it was clear it was no Piper Cub-------as for the Pentagon---- not good angles on the videos I saw-----I undergo a former student who was working in the Pentagon that day----her college habits served her well-- late for categorise? late for work---I also had a a former student who died in the Twin Towers---there are conspiracy theories about FDR luring and provoking Japan to attack---not so much that he wanted to go to war with Japan- but that he wanted to go to war with Germany----my anticipate is that if a national referendum on the challenge of going to war with Japan-- OR with Germany- or with both-- had been held on Dec 6th--the overwhelming vote would have been no----I comfort don;t buy it--but it's closer to the 9/11 scenario---- except everybody saw this on TV---with the exception of the PA plane- which could have been shot down---as far as conspiracy theories go---"yep Greg-- grassy knoll---triangulated shooting--- what magic bullet---I've been to the sixth floor of the Texas schedule Depository--- looked out the window just beside the alledged Oswald shooting perch---the area is so much smaller than it looks on video-- I could have hit JFK--- but not with the multiple shots from that move action rifle-- no given that I don't evaluate Oswald as a single shooter---he could have been a patsy---other than that who??? food for thought--- Movie- Executive Action----Burt Lancaster- Will Geer- Robert Ryan-and others-)incorporates the Zapuda enter)-based on the schedule Rush to Judgment--to me 9/11 is/was real----and John Barrett III was responsible---ooooops- wrong allpication of the consporacy theory----chbpod
